Judah God’s House of Praise Ministries is based upon the word of God in Genesis 49:8-12
In February 2006, Pastor Clifton Shaw Jr. was called to pastor a ministry called “God’s House of Release”. He served this ministry until December 2006, a total of 10 months. Afterwards, the Lord spoke to Pastor Shaw and said, “separate yourself from that ministry,” and the Lord led him to 6820 Fruitridge Road to start a new ministry.
Pastor Shaw was sitting at his desk at home and the Lord began to speak to him regarding the name for the ministry. First, he started with the name Lily of the Valley and as God continued to speak Pastor Shaw he was given the name Judah God’s House of Praise Ministries. God revealed to Pastor Shaw that this ministry is to be a church of praise because Judah means “praise”. God told Pastor Shaw to read Genesis 49:8-12 and Psalm 108:8. Pastor Shaw kept searching the scriptures and read Revelations 5:5. God informed him he is our protector, “The Lion of the Tribe of Judah”. God said I am not only your protector; I am Christ the Lamb, the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. After much hard labor and preparation for the building at 6820 Fruitridge Road the first service was held on February 4th, 2007 under the name “Judah God’s House of Praise Ministries” with 6 people on roll and many visitors.
In August of 2008, Judah God’s house of Praise Ministries moved to 9940 Business Park Drive Suite 100 where the church is today. There are members who have left, stayed or moved away. There are many that have been blessed and have been a blessing to the ministry. On roll there are approximately 40 members. Through it all we are praising God for the victory. We are soul winners for the kingdom which is the vision. We are praying that God will open up the flood gates and provide resources for greater victories. Christ the Lion is victorious because of what Christ the Lamb has already done.
God spoke to Pastor Shaw and said after 5 years, the year of grace from this time he will take us yonder. Judah is a profound name a glorious name. Pastor Shaw says we will be led by the spirit of God concerning this ministry. There is no other way but God’s way. It is all about him, Jesus Christ the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
Since April 2007, Judah God’s House of Praise Ministries has been under the covering of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop J.W. Macklin Jr. of the Northern California Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.
